Senior Life Underwriter

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Underwriter V to manage complex individual life insurance cases.

Key Responsibilities

• Underwrite complex and high-risk life insurance cases with an approval authority of $10 million or more
• Act as a lead resource on large cases, guiding decisions and determining the use of facultative reinsurance
• Provide mentoring and oversight to underwriters and support staff, ensuring quality and productivity goals are met

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• 10+ years of full-authority life underwriting experience, particularly with impaired risks and large cases
• Approval authority of at least $10 million with proven high-stakes decision-making ability
• Completion of key coursework: LOMA 280/281, 290, 311, 386, and ALU 101/201
• Experience working under pressure while maintaining compliance with company and industry standards
• Ability to work remotely with access to high-speed internet and located in the United States or Puerto Rico
