Backend Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Backend Engineer, Data Platform & APIs.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to feature development across the data platform and public API services
• Collaborate with product and platform engineers on system design and data flow
• Develop, test, deploy, and monitor Scala-based backend services

Required Qualifications

• 3-6 years of backend engineering experience, particularly in a JVM-based codebase
• Familiarity with functional programming patterns and idiomatic Scala
• Experience integrating with Identity Providers such as Okta, Auth0, or Keycloak
• Strong understanding of APIs, messaging systems (Kafka), and modern data stores
• Experience building services in a cloud-native environment, preferably AWS
