Backend Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Backend Engineer to develop and maintain code for their applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Propose, specify, implement, maintain, and decommission code for applications
• Contribute to architectural improvements and ensure seamless cross-device functionality
• Mentor colleagues and collaborate with teams to enhance user experience and product quality

Required Qualifications

• Professional experience in developing web services and understanding of key components (DNS, HTTP, DBs)
• Proficiency in Python and familiarity with at least one other programming language
• Knowledge of web app security risks and experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL
• Experience with Unix shell and scripting for automation tasks
• Understanding of software architecture principles and current testing practices
