A company is looking for a Character Rigger (Realistic) on a freelance basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop complex, realistic rigs for both biped and quadruped characters, including facial rigs and muscle systems
- Create clean, animator-friendly control systems with robust deformation capabilities
- Collaborate with modelers to ensure clean topology and proper joint placements for deformation
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a character rigger with a portfolio showcasing high-fidelity rigs
- Expertise in Maya; experience with rigging tools such as AdvancedSkeleton or mGear is a plus
- Deep understanding of anatomy, joint mechanics, skin weighting, and deformation
- Experience with facial rigging systems, including blendshapes and joint-based solutions
- Proficiency in Python/MEL scripting for automating rigging tasks
