Charge Entry Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Charge Entry Specialist responsible for accurately entering and reviewing medical charges to support the revenue cycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately enter charges and billing information into EHR and billing systems, verifying CPT, ICD, and HCPCS codes
• Review charge entries for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with billing guidelines and healthcare regulations
• Apply coding standards to ensure accurate charge capture and resolve discrepancies as needed

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in charge entry, coding, billing, or a similar role within the healthcare field
• High school diploma or GED required; additional coursework in medical billing, coding, or healthcare administration preferred
• Proficiency in medical terminology, CPT and ICD coding systems, and healthcare billing processes
• Familiarity with EHR/billing software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently in a remote setting
