Chemical System Design Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a System Design Engineer focused on Chemical and Gas systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop nuclear and industrial process systems and sub-systems from initial requirements to final design
• Create and maintain mass and energy balance models to ensure optimal efficiency
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate various analyses into plant design delivery

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Nuclear Engineering, or a related discipline, with a minimum of 10 years of direct experience in mechanical systems; a Master's degree can offset two years of experience
• Proficiency in thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, materials science, system controls, and gas handling/processing
• Experience with Aspen HYSYS and Aspen Plus for building and maintaining complex mass and energy balance models
• Knowledge of quality standards such as ASME NQA-1, AS 9100, ISO 9001 or equivalent
• Experience with risk analysis methodologies, including FMEA, Event Tree Analysis, and Fault Tree Analysis
