Clinical Data Abstractor

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Clinical Data Abstractor who will review medical records and extract relevant information for disability forms.

Key Responsibilities

• Abstract key clinical data from medical records into the Patient's EHR and/or medical forms
• Adhere to comprehensive abstraction process guidelines and maintain a 95% accuracy rate
• Communicate with co-workers, management, and hospital staff regarding clinical data abstraction issues

Required Qualifications and Education

• Previous experience with electronic medical records (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
• One or more of the following: Associate degree from an accredited HIM or Nursing program, or relevant certification
• At least one year of clinical experience in an inpatient or outpatient setting
• Passing grade in the Annual Introductory HIPAA examination
• Strong computer software experience, including Microsoft Word and Excel
