Key Responsibilities
- Perform concurrent and retrospective chart reviews to enhance clinical documentation completeness
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding trends and Medicare regulations
- Communicate with providers to clarify documentation requirements and ensure accuracy
Required Qualifications
- Medical Graduate (MD or MBBS) or Registered Nurse (RN) with active license and 5+ years of acute care experience
- 2+ years of experience as a Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist in an acute care setting
- Intermediate proficiency in clinical medicine, pathophysiology, and pharmacology
- Intermediate proficiency using Electronic Medical Records and ICD-10 coding
- Ability to work during Arizona Time Zone equivalent business hours
