Emergency Medicine Coding Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Coding Specialist II in Emergency Medicine.

Key Responsibilities

• Examine medical records to assign appropriate ICD and CPT codes
• Maintain coding accuracy and productivity rates of 95% while completing priority accounts daily
• Participate in coder-specific training and communicate with coworkers and physicians to resolve documentation discrepancies

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• High school diploma or equivalent with at least 24 months of ED professional coding experience
• One or more coding credentials such as CCS, CPC, RHIT, RHIA, or CCS-P are required
• Thorough knowledge of coding guidelines, medical terminology, and reimbursement schemes
• Proficiency in using personal computers in a Windows environment
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently
