Growing Places is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a values-based food system that supports both local farmers and consumers in North Central Massachusetts. We envision a thriving community-based food system that nourishes every member and the Earth.

We are seeking a passionate and motivated Youth Program Coordinator to support our youth programs.

Key Responsibilities – Youth Workforce Coordinator

Program Coordination and Implementation
Coordinate the day-to-day logistics of youth programs, including Farm to School activities, “Fun Farm Days” with local farms, and after-school programs.

Partner, Employer, and Funder Engagement
Support and strengthen relationships with local schools, youth-serving organizations, farms, food system employers, and funders to enhance program reach and quality.

Cross-Team Collaboration
Work closely with Growing Places’ food access, processing, and community engagement teams to ensure youth are integrated into meaningful roles across the organization.

Hands-On Support
Assist the Growing Places team with food value chain operations, including activities at the Gardner Food Processing Center and the Leominster warehouse. This may include support with packing, inventory, and distribution to help youth better understand the local food system in action.

Data Collection and Program Evaluation
Track and report participant outcomes. Contribute to ongoing program evaluation by collecting youth feedback, supporting data analysis, and helping refine programming based on learnings.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A passion for providing hands-on support to youth from all backgrounds
  • Experience working with youth
  • A background in food, nutrition, and/or agriculture
  • Understanding of local food systems
  • Ability to work with community-based partners
  • A collaborative spirit
  • Bi-lingual candidates are preferred

Part time with pro-rated benefits 25 to 30 hours per week

Compensation: $23 to $25 per hour based on experience
