Lead Database Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Lead Database Engineer to manage database initiatives and oversee migration projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the management of PostgreSQL databases, focusing on backups, security, and performance tuning
• Identify and resolve complex database performance issues while implementing optimization techniques
• Oversee the development and optimization of shell scripts for ETL processes and data integration

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master's Degree preferred
• Demonstrated experience in managing and optimizing PostgreSQL databases or other DBMS
• Advanced skills in Linux environments and shell scripting
• Deep understanding of Snowflake and its integration within database systems
• In-depth knowledge of cloud services, specifically AWS and Azure, for database migration projects
