Lighthouse Reports

Tech Investigations Editor

5/26/2025

N/A

Lighthouse is an award-winning investigative newsroom working with some of the world’s leading media to deliver deeply reported, public interest investigations. We’ve co-published series and investigations with more than 180 partners around the world. We work across formats from news and radio, podcasts and print to drama and documentary.

We’re hiring an investigations editor to build on our tech and accountability work and help us explore the potential global implications of ubiquitous technology in a team that includes talented data journalists, digital investigators and traditional investigative reporters. You must have the ability to understand the work of data teams as well as traditional reporters and the ability to see storytelling opportunities at the intersections of tech and environment, migration and human rights.

Working this job could mean going deep into the supply chains of Big Tech, the mines of crypto or under-reported harms of AI or the gig economy. You need to have a developed sense of how tech lands in and affects other reporting beats.

Projects may be long-form or front-page news, a podcast or TV segment. This is an opportunity to lead the work of teams of journalists including those from partner publications all over the world. You will need to be curious, ambitious, diplomatic and flexible.

DEADLINE for applications is end of day June 30

**Use of Gen AI in the application process will see candidates disqualified
