About the position
Responsibilities
• Develop, implement, and evaluate educational and interpretive programs related to U.S. military history.
• Coordinate visitor center operations and manage the site volunteer program.
• Conduct interactive tours, workshops, lectures, and historical demonstrations for diverse audiences.
• Ensure programs are based on historical research and align with current museum teaching methodologies.
• Work directly with the public, education groups, military units, veterans, and Gold Star families.
Requirements
• One year as a Museum Educator 1 or equivalent experience in a similar role.
• At least six months of full-time professional experience in developing and delivering public history programs about U.S. military history.
• Experience in planning and conducting interpretive programming that includes historic weapons demonstrations.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.
Nice-to-haves
• Experience with living history demonstrations.
• Knowledge of current best practices in museum education and cultural interpretation.
