A company is looking for an Associate Oncology Data Specialist.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and abstract oncology patient data for cancer registry compliance and reporting
- Ensure accurate coding and documentation of cancer cases, including treatment and follow-up information
- Monitor and report discrepancies in documentation and participate in quality improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in health sciences or related field with coursework in Anatomy, Physiology, and Medical Terminology
- Oncology Data Specialist credential (ODS-C) required within two years of hire
- Two years of medical office experience related to oncology
- Knowledge of coding systems and cancer registry standards
- Ability to work independently and manage data abstraction efficiently
