Overview:
Our client, a diversified pharmacy solutions organization serving health plans, employers, and government programs, seeks an accomplished Pharmacist.

• ** Location: 100% Remote – California Residents Only (Must reside in California)
• ** Duration: 6 months contract w/ possibility of extension or conversion to FTE role (depending upon performance)
Important Notes:
• This position is moving quickly; preference will be given to candidates who can complete the hiring process promptly.
• Anticipated Start Date: November 03, 2025.
• Work Schedule: 5 days per week, with coverage required Monday through Sunday.
• Shift Times: Start times vary between 8:00 AM and 12:30 PM.
• Training: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (4 weeks; camera required).
Description:
• Perform prospective and/or retrospective drug utilization reviews and appeals in compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Participate in the distribution of clinical drug information and educate providers and staff on the appropriate use of pharmaceutical treatment regimens.
• Adhere to all corporate and facility standard operating procedures, policies, guidelines, and work instructions.
• Provide prior-authorization services for formulary drugs and develop programs that promote optimal pharmacy care for patients.
• Participate in drug utilization review programs, assess and document patient care, and conduct retrospective reviews of provider reimbursement.
• Make evidence-based recommendations to physicians and other prescribers regarding medication regimens in accordance with plan guidelines.
• Assist providers to ensure accurate dispensing and billing of products.
• Collaborate with other clinical personnel in the assessment and development of treatment guidelines.
• Contribute to formulary development and management as needed.
• Validate the clinical availability of multi-source products for provider use.
• Ensure compliance with all federal and state laws, regulations, and standards of pharmacy practice.
• Maintain pharmacy records in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Stay current with pharmacotherapy knowledge by reviewing relevant literature, completing continuing education, and participating in company-provided training.
• Complete all mandatory company-provided online courses and attend required employee development sessions.
• Participate in mandatory on-call rotation as required by business needs.
• Make outbound and receive inbound telephone calls to support various aspects of patient care and product distribution for practitioners, members, and pharmacies. Calls may include but are not limited to (Comprehensive medication reviews; Targeted medication reviews; Product awareness discussions with practitioners; Prior authorization assistance).
Qualifications:
• Education: PharmD – Doctor of Pharmacy (required).
• Licensure: Active and current California Pharmacist license in good standing (required).
• Demonstrated knowledge of drug products and clinical pharmacy practice.
• Experience with prior authorization processes.
