Principal Data Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Principal Data Engineer to join their innovative team.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and implement end-to-end data architecture and establish standards for data management
• Design and build scalable data pipelines while ensuring workflow reliability and self-service tooling for analysts
• Lead data quality and governance initiatives, including dataset SLAs, validation tests, and security compliance

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
• Proven expertise in cloud platforms (AWS) and modern data warehouses or lakehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift)
• Strong proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (Python or Scala/Java)
• Experience with orchestration tools (Airflow) and data transformation frameworks (dbt)
• Familiarity with data quality testing, lineage, and security best practices
