Job Summary

A company is looking for a Mortgage Senior Underwriter responsible for underwriting mortgage loans and ensuring compliance with investor and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Underwrite conventional and government residential mortgage loans according to product and investor guidelines
• Ensure compliance with investor requirements, federal and state laws, and perform risk assessments of credit and collateral
• Resolve post-closing issues and assist in expediting loan closings while maintaining internal control standards

Required Qualifications:

• Associate's degree or 2 years relevant work experience plus 4-6 years of mortgage underwriting experience
• Direct Endorsement (DE) or LAPP approval preferred
• Full knowledge of credit risk and understanding of appraisals
• Thorough knowledge of DU/LP valuations and conforming/non-conforming guidelines
• Understanding of risk assessment processes and their impact on loan saleability
