Job Summary
A company is looking for an Associate Underwriter to join their underwriting team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a book of business with up to 75,000 members and ensure alignment with company goals
- Evaluate underwriting risk, determine premium rates, and recommend funding rates for contracts
- Make recommendations regarding benefit plan design and observe final rate negotiations with clients
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required)
- 0-2 years of experience in a related field, or 3+ years of experience in lieu of a degree
- Strong skills in performing calculations involving basic arithmetic operations and percentages
- Ability to interpret complex data sets and analyze trends
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to assess and mitigate risks
