A company is looking for a Certified Oncology Data Specialist.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducts medical record reviews to assess diagnosis, treatment, and disease status for cancer patients
- Performs case abstraction, follow-up maintenance, and research of all reported cancer cases
- Prepares statistical reports and responds to inquiries related to patients' cancer treatment
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Anatomy and Physiology; completion of a Medical Terminology course
- 2 years of experience in a hospital-based tumor registry
- Certification as an Oncology Data Specialist from the National Cancer Registrars Association upon hire
- Knowledge of cancer treatment options and tumor registry operations
- Proficiency in medical terminologies and database management software
