Job Summary

A company is looking for a Facility Coding Outpatient Complex Coder.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze medical records and accurately code diagnostic and procedural information according to national guidelines
• Abstract clinical diagnoses and procedure codes, ensuring documentation is complete for accurate coding
• Ensure compliance with coding regulations and provide quality coding for outpatient complex surgical and observation acute care services

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent training in medical record keeping, anatomy, and medical terminology
• Active certification as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Outpatient Coder (COC), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or similar
• Two or more years of outpatient complex coding experience in an acute care facility
• Knowledge of ICD CM/PCS and CPT4 coding principles
• Ability to work effectively in a remote setting using coding software and abstracting systems
