Director of Underwriting

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Director of Underwriting, responsible for overseeing underwriting processes and leading a team.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to enhance underwriting processes and manage risk
• Monitor key underwriting performance metrics and communicate results to management
• Lead a team of Underwriting Managers and Underwriters while ensuring compliance with regulations

Required Qualifications

• At least 10 years of residential mortgage underwriting experience, with 5 years in leadership roles
• Experience in building and scaling a team of underwriters
• Extensive knowledge of HECM Reverse and Proprietary mortgage programs
• Strong working knowledge of FHA underwriting policies and procedures
• Proficient with relevant software tools and PC applications
