Job Description:
I am seeking a licensed Electrical Engineer to provide a remote, permit-ready electrical design for a 12,000 sq ft, 4-level custom home in Temecula, California. The design must cover the entire electrical system to meet Temecula/Riverside County permitting requirements, including provisions for electric vehicle (EV) chargers in the garage, smart home features, and future integration with a geothermal mechanical system and radiant floor heating (currently in design).
Scope of Work:
Develop a permit-ready electrical design based on client-provided information (e.g., floor plans, garage specs, existing electrical details) for the property at Rancho California Rd, Temecula, CA 92591.
Include:
Electrical schematics for all levels, covering wiring for lighting, outlets, and power distribution.
Main and sub-panel schedules to support a large residence.
Provisions for 2 Level 2 EV charging stations in the garage (240V, 40-50A circuits, e.g., Tesla Wall Connector or ChargePoint).
Support for smart home systems (e.g., Crestron, Lutron for lighting and automation).
Account for future integration with a geothermal system (horizontal loop) and radiant floor heating, ensuring compatibility once mechanical design is finalized.
Ensure compliance with California Title 24 energy codes, 2022 California Electrical Code, and Temecula/Riverside County permitting requirements.
Deliver concise schematics, load calculations, and documentation formatted for permit submission.
Requirements:
Licensed Electrical Engineer in California (PE required for permitting).
5+ years of experience in residential electrical design, with expertise in large custom homes (10,000+ sq ft).
Proven experience preparing electrical designs for permitting in California, particularly Riverside County.
Familiarity with EV charger installations, smart home systems, and energy-efficient mechanical systems (e.g., geothermal, radiant heating).
Knowledge of Temecula, CA, and Riverside County building codes and permitting processes.
Ability to work remotely within a $1,000 budget, using client-provided data.
Strong communication skills to clarify project details remotely and ensure permit-ready deliverables.
References or examples of electrical designs approved for permitting in large homes.
