Field Software Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Staff Field Engineer - Distributed US.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain new features, integrations, and tooling for CockroachDB based on customer feedback
• Develop tools and automation frameworks to streamline deployments and configurations across various environments
• Investigate and resolve complex issues related to distributed systems and database performance while acting as a technical advisor for customers

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, preferably with distributed systems
• Experience in customer-facing or field engineering roles providing technical guidance
• Proficiency in at least one programming language, with a preference for Go
• Strong understanding of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and major public cloud providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
