About the position
The Network Support Technician Training program at Los Angeles Valley College is a completely online and free training initiative designed to prepare students for entry-level roles in network support, including positions such as Network Support Technician, Entry-level Help Desk Technician, or IT Support Specialist. The program focuses on teaching students about network operations, devices, media, and protocols, along with essential troubleshooting skills and help desk best practices. Training begins on November 4th.
Responsibilities
• Complete five required noncredit courses with a passing grade.

• Learn about computer hardware and operating systems.

• Understand networking basics and initial configuration of networking devices.

• Gain knowledge in network addressing and basic troubleshooting.

• Study network support and security principles.
Requirements
• Students must complete the five required noncredit courses with a passing grade (P).

• Completion of VOC ED 919CE – Computer Hardware and Operating Systems Net I.

• Completion of VOC ED 920CE – Networking Basics Net II.
,
• Completion of VOC ED 921CE – Networking Devices Initial Configuration Net III.
,
• Completion of VOC ED 922CE – Network Addressing and Basic Troubleshooting Net IV.

• Completion of VOC ED 923CE – Network Support and Security Net.

• Ability to request course by examination for CIS 210 and CIS 215 after completing specific courses.
