Position: Indiana Online Certified Teacher – Blended Asynchronous and Synchronous

Content Areas: Social Studies 6th-12th

Calendar Length: Full Time (260 days)

Salary – $55,000-$65,000 annually, commensurate with experience and education

Position Summary

Indiana Online, a department of the Central Indiana Educational Service Center (CIESC), provides synchronous and asynchronous instruction to partner schools throughout the state for students in grades 6-12. The Indiana Online certified teacher for social studies will utilize virtual tools providing synchronous and asynchronous instruction to students in grades 6-12 specifically.

Work Environment and/or Physical Demands:
• Ability to work some occasional evening hours, as needed to support some families
• Ability to work remotely 7.5 hours each work day
• At least 75% of the work hours will be between the hours of 7am – 5pm

Required education, certifications, and licensures:
• Bachelors in Secondary Education in social studies content area.
• Highly qualified and licensed to teach in Indiana (appropriate to content area and grade level responsibilities)

Required Experience:
• Must reside in Indiana
• Up to 3 years in secondary education
• 1 or more years of experience in facilitating in a virtual environment
• Experience with a Learning Management System
• Proven student-centered approach focusing on student data and achievement
• Team player track record
• Demonstrated leadership ability in an educational environment

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Expert level technology skills (specifically Google Suite)
• Highly organized and punctual
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• High degree of flexibility
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with all stakeholders
