A company is looking for a Veterinary Specialist-3, Public Health Veterinarian.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the subject matter expert for infectious disease preparedness, surveillance, and outbreak response
- Lead state health department efforts in infectious disease prevention and response, focusing on zoonotic and emerging infections
- Collaborate with various state and federal agencies, academic institutions, and local health departments to address public health challenges
Required Qualifications, Training, and Education
- Possession of a doctorate degree in veterinary medicine
- Three years of professional experience equivalent to a Veterinarian P11 or two years equivalent to a Veterinarian 12
- One year of experience equivalent to a Veterinary Specialist 13
- Possession of a license to practice veterinary medicine in Michigan
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be evaluated on an individual basis
