Patient Account Representative

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Patient Account Representative responsible for collections, account follow-up, and billing allowance posting.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow up with payers to ensure timely resolution of outstanding claims
• Monitor and bill all hospital services accurately and within expected timeframes
• Analyze and resolve issues causing payer payment delays and initiate appeals when necessary

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• 2-3 years' experience in insurance collections and hospital/facility billing required
• Basic knowledge of healthcare claims processing including ICD-9/10, CPT, and HCPC codes
• Experience with workflow systems and client host systems such as STAR, SMS, EAGLE, and EPIC
• Understanding of government, Medicare, and Medicaid claims
