Job Summary
A company is looking for a Patient Account Representative responsible for collections, account follow-up, and billing allowance posting.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow up with payers to ensure timely resolution of outstanding claims
- Monitor and bill all hospital services accurately and within expected timeframes
- Analyze and resolve issues causing payer payment delays and initiate appeals when necessary
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 2-3 years' experience in insurance collections and hospital/facility billing required
- Basic knowledge of healthcare claims processing including ICD-9/10, CPT, and HCPC codes
- Experience with workflow systems and client host systems such as STAR, SMS, EAGLE, and EPIC
- Understanding of government, Medicare, and Medicaid claims
