Principal Software Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Principal Software Engineer II - Query Engine, Database Internals.

Key Responsibilities

• Define, lead, and contribute to the development of data-intensive enhancements in the analytics capabilities of Elasticsearch
• Research and implement the latest features, data structures, and algorithms to build effective capabilities for users
• Collaborate with partners and product teams to understand needs and develop a strategic vision for ES|QL and the compute engine

Required Qualifications

• Experience leading technical projects in data and enterprise architecture
• Proven knowledge in building and running sophisticated technical infrastructures
• Hands-on experience with search and analytics solutions
• Strong skills in core Java and familiarity with data structures and concurrency constructs
• Experience with data storage technologies like Elasticsearch, Solr, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Cassandra
