Protobuf Cleanup Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Protobuf Cleanup Engineer to support modernization efforts in their core metadata infrastructure team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Audit and identify current usages of GoGoProto extensions in protobuf definitions
• Migrate .proto files to use standard protobuf options and regenerate protobuf code
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams and document migration steps and best practices

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience with Protocol Buffers in production Go/gRPC environments
• Strong proficiency in Golang, including code generation and concurrency patterns
• Familiarity with GoGoProto and its ecosystem is preferred
• Experience with large, production-critical codebases in service-oriented architectures
• Ability to work independently and navigate infrastructure-level projects
