Senior Director of Translational Genetics

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Senior Director of Translational Genetics to lead translational research efforts in genetic diagnosis.

Key Responsibilities

• Grow and mentor a team to develop infrastructure and algorithms for analyzing DNA, RNA, and proteomic data
• Formulate and implement strategies to increase diagnostic rates of genetic testing for rare diseases
• Develop and deploy novel methods for identifying relationships between genes and diseases

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Genetics, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of postdoctoral or industry experience in computational biology and genome analysis
• Extensive experience in translational genetics research with a focus on clinical applications
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and R
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in genomic interpretation tool development
