Software Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Software Engineer to support the NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) Data Stewardship Division.

Key Responsibilities

• Play a key role in the stewardship of the nation's environmental data archive
• Extract requirements through collaboration with subject matter experts and analysis of descriptive dataset information while creating, testing, and debugging Python code in AWS Cloud9
• Build patterns and templates in Amazon SageMaker AI

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of programming experience, or an associate degree with 4+ years of programming experience, or 6+ years of programming experience
• Strong programming skills in Python
• Experience with cloud infrastructures, especially AWS and Cloud9
• Familiarity with Agile/SAFe Scrum methodologies
• Understanding of scientific data formats, like NetCDF, and related metadata formats
