Job Summary
A company is looking for a Core Component Stress Analysis Engineer to conduct stress analyses for structures in high-temperature and high-neutron fluence environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform stress analysis for Reactor Core Assemblies using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and hand calculations
- Present analysis results to internal and external stakeholders
- Collaborate with the Core Component Design team and multidisciplinary Engineering and Project Teams
Required Qualifications
- B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of ten years of structural analysis experience; relevant M.S. and Doctorate degrees may account for up to two and four years of experience, respectively
- Proficient in FEA for nonlinear analyses, particularly with ANSYS or ABAQUS
- Familiarity with first-principles calculations and reference materials for closed-form approximations
- Experience with scripting languages such as APDL or Python
