Job Summary
A company is looking for an Underwriter III to evaluate and select risk while supporting corporate financial and membership goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and develop rates for underwriting proposals and renewals, including various client sizes and complexities
- Utilize data systems to assess risk and suggest alternative funding arrangements or benefit packages
- Train and mentor less experienced underwriters and consult with senior leadership on underwriting policies
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Mathematics, or related field, or 4 years of related work experience
- 5 years of health insurance underwriting experience
- Advanced Excel skills and intermediate Access skills preferred
- Mastery of alternate funding arrangements and underwriting policies
- Relevant designations such as CEBS, HIAA, CLU, CHC, or FLMI, or state insurance license preferred
