Job Summary

A company is looking for an Inpatient Hospital Coder.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect and assign accurate ICD-10 diagnosis and PCS procedural codes based on inpatient coding guidelines
• Abstract data from various inpatient hospital case types and utilize hospital encoding systems effectively
• Resolve coding validation and claim edits in compliance with regulatory processes

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree or two years of college coursework in Health Information Management (HIM) or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of 1 year inpatient facility coding experience or 3 years outpatient facility coding experience with pediatric acute care
• Completion of a PCS training program
• AHIMA - CCS or RHIT/RHIA or AAPC - CIC or CPC/COC credentials, with eligibility to obtain CCS or CIC within 6 months of hire
• Preferred: CCS or CIC at time of hire and experience in a pediatric acute care setting
