Reddit is seeking empathetic, internet-savvy individuals to join our Remote Community Moderation Team. As a Social Media Community Moderator, you’ll help manage discussions, enforce guidelines, and create a safe, engaging space for millions of Redditors. If you live online, know meme culture, and care about digital community health, this job’s for you.
Monitor and moderate Reddit communities to ensure respectful and policy-compliant discussions
Flag and remove harmful, spammy, or rule-breaking content
Support subreddit mods and work with Reddit’s internal trust & safety team
Respond to user reports and help guide healthy community engagement
Stay up to date with trends, subreddit dynamics, and online etiquette
Provide feedback to improve tools, guidelines, and user experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Familiarity with Reddit culture and community dynamics (bonus if you're already a Redditor!)
Excellent judgment, empathy, and written communication skills
Ability to work independently, especially in asynchronous remote teams
Fast internet and a distraction-free workspace
Previous moderation or community management experience is a plus, but not required
Work from anywhere in the U.S.
