Security Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Security Engineer to support the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Security Operations program.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement, maintain, and improve enterprise security capabilities for compliance, detection, and incident response
• Monitor and analyze security events to identify, investigate, and respond to threats
• Support compliance activities, including scanning, documentation, remediation tracking, and required assessments

Qualifications

• 1-5+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, security operations, or related technical roles
• Experience in one or more security domains: compliance, detection, incident response, or operations management
• Experience with cloud security in AWS and/or Azure, including federal governance and compliance frameworks
• Background in government IT environments, specifically CMS or HHS
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Security+, GSEC, AWS Security Specialty, CISSP) preferred
