Senior Backend Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Staff Backend Engineer.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build new features or enhancements to backend systems and services with automated instrumentation
• Improve the maintainability and stability of the codebase by fixing issues and adding enhancements
• Triage and resolve operational issues for mission-critical backend systems as part of an on-call team

Required Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in developing backend components, services, or APIs in Java or a similar language
• Demonstrated knowledge of distributed systems and functional programming paradigms
• Knowledge of SQL and experience with online data stores such as MySQL or PostgreSQL
• Passion for agile, test-driven development, continuous integration, and automated testing
• BS or MS in computer science or related field
