A company is looking for a Senior Economist to provide economic and policy expertise for fishery management plans and regulatory analyses.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of Regulatory Flexibility Act analyses and cost-benefit evaluations
- Review fisheries management action documents for compliance with relevant statutes and executive orders
- Conduct and interpret economic analyses using NOAA fisheries datasets and provide actionable economic advice
Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Economics or a related field
- 7+ years of applied economics or policy analysis experience, with 3-5+ years in federal regulatory or fisheries management work
- Experience in preparing Regulatory Flexibility Act analyses and cost-benefit evaluations
- Proficiency with statistical and analytical software (e.g., R, Stata, SAS, or Python)
- Skilled in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite for collaborative work and analysis
