Senior Hospital Coder - NC Licensed

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Hospital Coder Senior.

Key Responsibilities

• Assigns and audits ICD-10 and CPT codes for inpatient and outpatient services
• Mentors and provides feedback to medical coders, assisting with complex coding issues
• Conducts coding audits and ensures compliance with coding regulations and guidelines

Required Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Health Information Management, Nursing, or related field, or equivalent experience
• Successful completion of the inpatient and outpatient coder proficiency test
• AHIMA or AAPC certification and credential required
• Three years of experience in inpatient and outpatient hospital coding (or seven years with a high school diploma)
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding
