Software Developer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Software Developer to support the NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information.

Key Responsibilities

• Enhance NOAA's scientific data systems through automation scripting, primarily in Python
• Collaborate with developers and metadata specialists following Agile practices
• Participate in all development phases, improving data granule processes for environmental data catalogs

Required Qualifications

• BS/BA degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field preferred
• 2 to 4 years of relevant experience as a software developer
• Experience with APIs and protocols such as REST
• Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting
• Familiarity with Unix or Linux platforms and version control systems
