We are seeking a Spanish tutor or instructor to create educational materials based on popular Spanish songs. Most of the songs will be raggaeton, dembow, etc (think Bad Bunny), and our ideal candidate will be someone who likes this type of music and is already familiar with the songs.
The first step is to get an accurate translation of the song, which can often be difficult because most of the translations (and even sometimes the transcriptions) published online are wrong. Our ideal candidate is a native speaker of Caribbean Spanish and is in the age demographic targeted by the music, so they know all the slang. If you do not know all the slang, you’ll have to be able to look it up (which is at times difficult since it’s not always documented) – that being said, it’s almost always possible to find the answer online with enough research.
Once you have an accurate translation, we need to go through line-by-line and explain the Spanish in each line. The explanation is geared toward native English speakers who are learning Spanish. You must have strong writing skills and have experience creating Spanish educational materials.
I am initially looking to do 10 songs, and I want to break the project into milestones on a per song basis – $100 per song. If selected, the first song you do will be a paid trial corresponding to the first milestone. I plan on trialing more than one freelancer and then choosing the best one to do the rest of the songs. If we do not choose to move forward with you, I will cancel the project after the first milestone. I may plan to do more than 10 songs in the future, so there is the possibility for more work down the road. But for now I’m just doing 10 songs.
