Job Summary

A company is looking for a Government Underwriter to support their Southcentral Texas branches.

Key Responsibilities

• Underwrite FHA and VA loans, ensuring compliance with company policies and standards
• Communicate regularly with Loan Officers and Processors regarding loan statuses
• Assist in training other mortgage positions and maintain current knowledge of products

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of specific government underwriting experience
• Experience with Texas loans and valid CHUMS and LAPP/SAR designations
• Recent experience underwriting FHA and VA loans
• Intermediate experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and email systems
• Proven leadership skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
