Vice President of Surgical Services

A leading, innovative healthcare system in Austin, TX, is seeking an experienced Vice President of Surgical Services to oversee and drive strategic growth and excellence across two top-tier surgical facilities. Both locations are equipped with state-of-the-art technologies, including robotics and cardiovascular services, and are known for delivering exceptional patient care in high-volume environments.

Compensation / Pay:

• Salary Range: $152,734 – $200,000 (based on experience)

• Bonus Opportunity: 15% annual Director Bonus

• Sign-On & Relocation Bonuses: Negotiable

This executive-level role leads all aspects of surgical services operations at two acute care hospitals, including pre/post-operative care, sterile processing, scheduling, and service line growth. The Vice President will manage two teams across locations with 92 and ~40 staff members respectively, guiding performance, process improvement, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day operations of 22 ORs across two hospitals

• Lead strategic planning and service expansion initiatives

• Develop budgets, allocate resources, and analyze cost structures

• Implement new surgical technologies and services

• Ensure high-quality care, safety, and patient satisfaction

• Cultivate partnerships with medical staff and stakeholders

• Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and collaboration

Education:

• Bachelor's degree required

• Master’s degree in Nursing, Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred

Experience:

• Minimum 3+ years of leadership experience in surgical services

• Proven track record managing surgical operations in large, acute care facilities

Licensure/Certification:

• Active RN or CST license required

• CNOR or CSSM certification preferred

Skills:

• Strategic planning and execution

• Strong leadership and communication across interdisciplinary teams

• Expertise in surgical workflow, cost efficiency, and process optimization
