We are looking for a results-driven Division Sales Manager with deep experience in the wine and beverages industry, particularly in managing distributor relationships and driving execution. The ideal candidate excels at overseeing distributor performance, providing the support and resources needed to effectively sell and promote premium brands.

Under the direction of the Director of Sales & Commercial Operations, you will be responsible for managing key strategic on- and off-premise accounts within your region, ensuring brand growth, market penetration, and alignment with business goals. You’ll play a critical role in gaining new distribution, increasing sales velocity, and contributing meaningfully to the long-term success of Wonderful Wines.

This role covers the Texas region, with approximately 65-75% of the time spent in trade.

Job Description

Sales Support & Distributor Management:

  • Acts as a key sales support leader working alongside distributors to drive velocity after product placements.
  • Guides distributors in executing localized sales strategies while ensuring alignment with division goals.
  • Maintains accountability for distributor execution while acting as a strategic partner to optimize performance.
  • Strengthen relationships with key off-premise and on-premise accounts ensuring distributor support and alignment on execution of plan.
  • Conducts frequent market visits with distributor teams to assess execution, work with distributors, optimizing strategies, and identifying growth opportunities.
  • Set up distributor incentives and programs with Director of Sales and Commercial Operations oversight.
  • Survey retail accounts to maintain retail brand standards
  • Direct sales to accounts as needed, while maintaining communication with the distributor and sharing results

Training & Development:

  • Trains distributor sales team and key accounts on product knowledge, brand positioning, and sales techniques to increase pull-through.
  • Ensure distributors partners adhere to brand standards
  • Develops and coordinates sales training programs for distributors, retailers, and restaurant

Sales Growth & Activation Strategy:

  • Lead efforts to enhance product velocity through activations, tastings, and in-store/venue promotions.
  • Reviews sales velocity data identifying underperforming accounts and implement targeted programs to improve results.
  • Partners with Marketing team to execute high-impact consumer activations that drive brand awareness and sales.
  • Organizes and executes consumer tastings, brand events, wine dinners, and other activations to build brand awareness and drive sales velocity.
  • Helps implement and track local and national promotions and placements, ensuring compliance and effectiveness at the account level for both on and off premise.

Data Analysis & Inventory Management:

  • Monitors distributor sales, inventory, pricing, and avoid out of stocks.
  • Analyze sales data using iDIG and distributors internal dashboards to optimize sales performance.
  • Actively use iDIG, KARMA, and VIP Price 2.0

Qualifications

 

  • Minimum of 5 years of sales experience in wine and spirits.
  • Strong analytical and financial management acumen.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Strategic thinking and adaptability to evolving market conditions.
  • A true passion for premium wines and a commitment to quality, innovation, and long-term brand building.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.

Pay Range: $85,000 - $110,000 and may include a discretionary bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
