Job Summary
A company is looking for a Coder IV to manage advanced coding tasks and support patient care through accurate coding practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage specialized work queues and ensure coding accuracy for various patient cases
- Support denial reviews and mentor new coders while assisting with training
- Participate in quality assurance and new software testing and implementation
Required Qualifications, Training, and Education
- Associate degree in Health Information Technology or equivalent experience; Bachelor's degree preferred
- Eight years of inpatient hospital coding experience, including Level 1 Trauma coding
- Current coding certification (CPC, COC, CIC, CCS, CCS-P) required; RHIA or RHIT accepted with coding experience
- Ability to pass a coding exam with at least 85% accuracy prior to hire
- Preferred training in 3M encoder and EPIC Electronic Health Record
