Job Summary
A company is looking for a Certified Oncology Data Specialist - Per Diem.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducts medical record reviews to assess diagnosis, treatment, and disease status for cancer patients
- Performs case-finding, follow-up maintenance, and research of all reportable cancer cases
- Produces accurate cancer registry data abstractions and prepares statistical reports according to standards
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Anatomy and Physiology Levels I-II and Medical Terminology course
- 2 years of experience in a hospital-based tumor registry
- Certification as an Oncology Data Specialist from the National Cancer Registrars Association upon hire
- Knowledge of tumor registry theory and operations
- Ability to analyze and abstract information from medical records
