Job Summary

A company is looking for a Surgical Coder specializing in Ortho/Neuro for a remote position.

Key Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures
• Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulations while maintaining coding accuracy
• Communicate coding issues and documentation improvement opportunities to relevant personnel

Required Qualifications

• AHIMA or AAPC certified credentials (e.g., RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, COC)
• 3-5 years of outpatient coding experience preferred
• 2+ years of coding experience in a hospital or coding consulting role
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
• Experience with computerized encoding and abstracting software
