Children's Book Designer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Designer for children's books.

Key Responsibilities

• Design covers and interiors for approximately 25-30 books annually, including board books, picture books, and illustrated chapter books
• Collaborate with the Art Director and other team members throughout the book-making process, from concept to final production
• Research and pitch illustrators, providing guidance and art direction during all phases of art development

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in illustrated children's publishing book design
• Strong portfolio showcasing design and typography skills
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign
• Knowledge of color correction, prepress, and proofing for print design
• Active involvement in the illustrator community and ability to seek out new talent
