Driver - Smashbox Studios Brooklyn

We are looking for punctual candidates with good time management skills for the position of Driver. Drivers are a crucial member of our team, responsible for delivering photo studio equipment orders to clients in a timely manner. They are expected to provide professional customer service, keep all delivery documents and invoices neat and organized, and communicate regarding lateness, equipment issues, and damaged or missing products. The successful candidate will be passionate about growing a business and delivering high touch customer service understanding how their role is a key aspect of ensuring our service standards are met with every client and vendor.

Drivers will need to lift heavy objects and load them into their vehicles, requiring upper body strength and physical stamina. This is a physical, fast-paced, outdoor position that involves continual lifting, lowering and carrying packages that typically weigh 25 - 35 lbs. and may weigh up to 70 lbs.

Driver Responsibilities:

• Safely load, secure, and deliver equipment to customers.
• Retrieves equipment from customer locations, safely transporting the equipment back to the office.
• Complete all paperwork and data entry accurately and in a timely manner to ensure accurate documentation for billing, inventory, and regulatory compliance.
• Safely Load, secure and protect product in delivery vehicle and safely transport merchandise without damage
• Carrying out vehicle maintenance checks.
• Extensive knowledge of driving routes in the NYC Metropolitan area in addition to utilizing navigation apps to find the most optimal route.
• Interacting with clients in a professional manner
• Ensuring that vehicles have sufficient gas and are always ready for use and arranging for vehicle repairs when necessary.
• Updating daily mileage records.
• Verify product information and accessories to ensure it matches for deliveries and returns
• Ensure all merchandise is clean and in operating condition prior to delivery

We are looking for someone who has/is:

• a clean driving record and valid NY State Drivers' License
• experience driving cargo vans and box trucks
• knowledge of driving in the the five boroughs
• punctual
• great communication skills and must be comfortable interacting with customers
• must be 21 or older, ideally over 25 years of age for insurance purposes

The anticipated salary range for this role is $16.50 - $18.50 per hour. Ranges are based on various factors including experience, the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience, and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
