Cyber Security Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to support the Department of Veterans Affairs' VetPro credentialing system.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and maintain security controls in accordance with VA Handbook 6500 and NIST 800-53
• Develop and maintain ATO documentation, including System Security Plans and Security Assessment Reports
• Conduct vulnerability scans, analyze findings, and coordinate remediation efforts

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related field
• 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering or information assurance
• Strong knowledge of NIST 800-53, FISMA, and VA Handbook 6500
• Experience with vulnerability scanning tools and cloud security principles
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, Security+, or CEH are preferred
